Documents Required for Tirupati Darshan

Carrying the correct documents is essential for a smooth darshan experience at Tirumala. ID proofs are verified at multiple checkpoints, and failure to produce valid documents can result in denied entry.

Important Rules

  • The ID proof type and number entered during online booking must match the physical ID carried
  • Original documents only - photocopies and screenshots are not accepted
  • DigiLocker versions of Aadhaar and driving license are accepted
  • Children under 12 do not need separate ID but must be accompanied by an adult with valid ID
  • NRIs and foreign nationals must carry their passport

What to Carry

  • Original ID proof (same as used in booking)
  • Darshan booking confirmation printout (or saved on phone)
  • Small purse with cash for prasadam and donations
  • Prescription medicines if needed
  • Accommodation booking confirmation (if staying)

What NOT to Carry

  • Mobile phones (deposit at free locker facility)
  • Cameras and electronic devices
  • Leather items - belts, wallets, bags, purses
  • Food items and water bottles
  • Footwear (remove before queue entry)
  • Tobacco products
