Tirupati Package from Hyderabad: TGTDC, IRCTC & Private

A Tirupati package from Hyderabad comes three ways: Telangana Tourism's 2-day bus tour at about Rs 4,250 with free SSD darshan; IRCTC Tourism's train packages from about Rs 3,800 and flight package from about Rs 14,550, both with Rs 300 special-entry darshan; or a private package from roughly Rs 3,700 without darshan. The TSRTC darshan bundle ended in November 2024.

The road distance is about 550-570 km, roughly 9-10 hours by the Kurnool-Kadapa route, so a Hyderabad pilgrim can do the trip overnight both ways. The right package is decided not by the price hook but by the darshan type inside it: TGTDC gives you the free slotted queue, IRCTC bundles the Rs 300 ticket, and most private operators give you neither. Tirupati package from Hyderabad options at a glance

Every figure below was read on 1 October 2026 from the operator's page or a reseller listing; several are older published rates that resellers still show, so treat them as "as listed" and confirm before paying. Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala, administered by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, receives tens of thousands of pilgrims a day, and the darshan column is the one that matters.

Telangana Tourism (TGTDC) Tirupati package

Price, days and boarding points

Telangana Tourism (TGTDC) runs a government road package from Hyderabad. As listed by a Tirupati information site and mirrored by reseller listings, it costs Rs 4,250 per person for two days and one night, departs on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in an AC semi-sleeper bus, and reaches Tirupati around 6 AM the next morning. The official TGTDC package page was not found online during our check, so confirm the schedule and price with Telangana Tourism or on the listed number, +91-9110583839.

Temples covered and darshan type

The tour covers Tirumala with Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD), the free slotted queue, plus Kanipakam, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Padmavathi Temple, Tiruchanoor and Srikalahasti, with a guide and a non-AC hotel night. The darshan point is the one to understand: SSD is the general queue with a time slot, not the Rs 300 special entry. What is not included

Special darshan tickets, meals beyond what the listing states, and any seva. The original Aadhaar is mandatory for boarding. Cancellation is allowed up to two days before departure with a Rs 300 deduction, as listed.

The TSRTC Balaji Darshan bundle: what changed

November 2024 decision

For years pilgrims searched for the TSRTC package that combined a bus seat with a Rs 300 darshan ticket. In November 2024 the TTD Trust Board scrapped the darshan quota it had given to state tourism and transport corporations, and with it the bundle. TGSRTC, the corporation set up in 2015 with its headquarters in Hyderabad, still runs its regular Hyderabad-Tirupati services from MGBS Hyderabad and JBS, reported at around 30 buses a day, but the bus no longer carries a darshan ticket.

How to book bus and darshan separately now

1. Book the Special Entry Darshan (Rs 300) slot on ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in first, because darshan slots are the scarce item.
2. Then book the TGSRTC bus on tgsrtcbus.in for a departure that lands you in Tirupati three to four hours before your reporting time.
3. Carry the darshan ticket and the ID used to book it; the bus ticket is separate and proves nothing at the temple.

IRCTC Tirupati packages from Hyderabad

IRCTC Tourism sells three packages ex Hyderabad, all listed as daily departures and all including Sheegra (Rs 300 special entry) darshan, car transfers, hotel and meals.

Govindam 2N/3D by train

The Govindam package is the entry-level train option. Published rates from a 2023 announcement, still shown on 2026 reseller listings, were Rs 3,800 per person double or triple in Standard (sleeper) and Rs 5,660 in Comfort (3A), with singles at Rs 4,940-4,950 and Rs 6,790; one reseller lists "from Rs 3,690". It includes the train, the Rs 300 darshan, Padmavati temple, stay and meals.

Poorva Sandhya 3N/4D

The longer train package adds a night and more temple time. Its current price was not shown on the pages we read, so check irctctourism.com.

Flight package 1N/2D

The Tirupati Balaji Darshanam ex Hyderabad flight package covers Kanipakam, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Tirumala, Tiruchanoor and Srikalahasti in two days, from about Rs 14,550 per a reseller listing.

Private packages: what to compare

Private packages range from a Rs 3,700 seat in a shared vehicle to Rs 19,000-plus OTA itineraries. The YatraDham Hyderabad package is a useful benchmark because its costing is transparent: Rs 3,700 per adult and Rs 2,960 per child for 3D/2N in a sedan, Innova or tempo traveller, with shared stay, AC transport and tolls included, and GST at 5%, meals and all entry or VIP darshan tickets excluded. That exclusion is typical of private operators. Before booking any private package, check:

• Whether any darshan is included, and which type; "darshan assistance" is not a ticket.
• Whether the price is per person on a shared vehicle or per vehicle.
• Hotel location (Tirupati town vs Tirumala hill) and whether it is shared.
• Meals, tolls, parking and GST.
• The cancellation scale.

OTA quotes vary so widely that the same Thomas Cook hub page showed budget packages from Rs 10,000 while its FAQ mentioned much lower figures; read the inclusions line by line rather than the headline.

Darshan type decides the package

Book the darshan on the official TTD portal, ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in, and nowhere else; state tourism and transport corporations lost their darshan quota in November 2024, so where a package (for example IRCTC) lists the Rs 300 special-entry darshan as included, confirm that inclusion at booking. Sample 2-day plan and cost per person

This plan follows the TGTDC arrival time and works equally for a self-booked overnight TGSRTC bus.

• Day 0, evening: depart Hyderabad on the overnight bus (about 9-10 hours by the Kurnool-Kadapa route per the site's distance article; the site's transport guide lists 12-14 hours for some services).
• Day 1, about 6 AM: arrive Tirupati; hotel check-in, bath, then the hill. Darshan by your slot; Padmavathi Temple, Tiruchanoor in the afternoon.
• Day 2: Srikalahasti, Kanipakam and Srinivasa Mangapuram by the package route, then the overnight return.

The arithmetic is illustrative, built only on the quoted figures above, and ignores meals and the older date of the IRCTC rates. The conclusion holds: the three routes cost within a few hundred rupees of each other for a couple, so choose by darshan type and comfort. The IRCTC train package includes the Rs 300 darshan that TGTDC does not; the private package leaves you to book darshan yourself but gives a private vehicle for temple hopping.
