Key takeaways

  • The e-DIP is a free-to-enter monthly draw for Suprabhatam, Thomala, Archana and Astadala Pada Padmaradhana sevas, run on ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in.
  • Register between the 18th at 10 AM and the 20th at 10 AM for sevas three months ahead; results the same day; pay by 12 noon on the 22nd or the allotment lapses.
  • Kalyanotsavam, Unjal, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara are not drawn: they release first-come on the 21st at 10 AM.
  • Reported 2026 prices: Rs 120 Suprabhatam, Rs 220 Thomala, Rs 220 Archana, Rs 1,250 Astadala Pada Padmaradhana; confirm on the portal.
  • Two persons per registration, ID must match at the gate, traditional dress, no cancellation, and an Aadhaar is reported to be blocked for six months after attending.

The TTD lucky dip, or Electronic Dip (e-DIP), is a monthly draw run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for four Arjitha sevas: Suprabhatam, Thomala, Archana and Astadala Pada Padmaradhana. Registration is open from the 18th at 10 AM to the 20th at 10 AM for sevas three months ahead; results follow the same day; winners pay by noon on the 22nd.

That cycle is everything. Miss the 48-hour window and you wait a month; miss the payment deadline and the seat goes back into the pool. This guide sets out the standard dates with times, which sevas are in the draw and which are released directly, the registration steps, the rules that get entries rejected, a worked example for an October 2026 registration, and what to do if your name is not drawn. Dates and prices are as reported by pilgrim guides and news for 2026; confirm the live details on the official portal, because the dip page appears there only while the window is open.

What the TTD lucky dip is

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is the trust set up under the TTD Act of 1932 by the Andhra Pradesh government to manage the Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala, and it is headquartered in Tirupati. The temple's morning and mid-morning sevas admit only a handful of devotees each day against demand from lakhs of pilgrims, so TTD allots them by draw rather than first-come booking.

Why TTD moved scarce sevas to a draw

First-come release of a few seats for Suprabhatam Seva and the other morning sevas favours whoever clicks fastest; a draw with a fixed 48-hour window removes that advantage: every registration in the window has the same chance, and payment happens only after selection. It also spreads the allotment across the month's dates rather than the first few days. The full list of sevas, what each involves and how the non-dip sevas are booked is on our TTD seva booking guide.

Electronic dip vs offline dip

The electronic dip runs entirely on the portal: registration, draw, SMS and email intimation, payment and ticket download. For a pilgrim planning from home the e-DIP on the portal is the route, and it is free to enter as reported; you pay the seva amount only if selected.

TTD lucky dip dates: the monthly cycle

Registration window

Every month the window opens on the 18th at 10:00 AM and closes on the 20th at 10:00 AM. The sevas on offer are for the month three months ahead, so a June registration is for September sevas and an October registration is for January sevas. The September 2026 dip, for example, ran from 18 June 2026, 10 AM, to 20 June 2026, 10 AM.

Results and payment deadline

The draw is run after the window closes and results are published on the 20th, with guides reporting the afternoon or around noon; selected devotees are told by SMS and email and can see the status after logging in. Payment is open from the 20th to 12:00 noon on the 22nd. Unpaid allotments lapse.

When the window shifts (festival months)

The pattern is standardised but not fixed in stone. When the 18th-20th clashes with a major festival, TTD shifts the window by a day or two: the dip for December 2026 sevas was reported to run 19-21 September 2026 because of Srivari Brahmotsavam. If a festival falls in the third week of a month, look for a TTD press note rather than assuming the 18th.

Which sevas are allotted through the dip

In the dip

Four sevas go through the draw. Prices below are as reported for 2026 by several pilgrim price lists; confirm the live amount on ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in before paying, because TTD revises seva fees from time to time.

Not in the dip (direct release)

Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara are released directly on the 21st at 10 AM for the same seva month. They are not drawn; they sell first-come, so the same three-month planning applies but the tactic is speed rather than luck.

How to register for the TTD electronic dip, step by step

  1. Create or log in to your account on the official TTD portal, ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in.
  2. Update your profile before the window opens: name, mobile, and an ID such as Aadhaar or passport. The name and ID must match what you will carry at the seva.
  3. On the 18th after 10 AM, open the Seva Electronic DIP section; it appears only during the window.
  4. Add the devotees, up to two per registration (one mobile number, two persons as reported).
  5. Choose the seva or sevas and the preferred dates in the seva month three months ahead.
  6. Submit before 10 AM on the 20th. There is no fee at this stage.
  7. Wait for the draw on the 20th; check SMS, email and the portal login.
  8. If selected, log in, upload the required photo and pay before 12 noon on the 22nd.
  9. Download and print the seva ticket.
  10. Attend on the seva date with the original ID used at registration, in traditional dress.

Rules that get people rejected

Most gate refusals and lapsed allotments come from a short list of avoidable mistakes.

RuleWhat it meansCommon mistake
Two persons per registrationOne mobile number covers at most two devoteesTrying to add a third person on the same account
ID matchThe original ID entered at registration must be shown at the sevaRegistering with Aadhaar, arriving with a driving licence
Aadhaar six-month blockAfter attending a dip seva, the Aadhaar is reported to be blocked from the dip for six monthsRe-registering the following month and wondering why the entry fails
Payment deadline12 noon on the 22ndWaiting for a reminder that never comes
No cancellationOnce paid, dip seva tickets cannot be cancelled or transferredPaying before checking leave and travel
Dress codeTraditional dress is mandatory for Arjitha sevasArriving in western wear
One window a month18th 10 AM to 20th 10 AM, festival shifts exceptedLogging in on the 21st

Worked example: registering in October 2026

If the standard cycle applies in October 2026, this is the calendar for a pilgrim who wants a January 2027 seva.

StepDateWhat you do
PrepareBy 17 October 2026Profile updated with ID; decide your January dates and your two names
Register18 October, 10 AM to 20 October, 10 AMOpen the e-DIP section, add up to two devotees, choose sevas and January 2027 dates, submit
Results20 OctoberWatch SMS and email; log in to check
PayBy 22 October, 12 noonUpload photo, pay the seva amount, download the ticket
Direct-release backup21 October, 10 AMIf not selected, try Kalyanotsavam or Unjal for January when they release
TravelJanuary 2027Book transport and stay only after the ticket is in hand; arrive the day before the seva

The three-month lead is the practical advantage. A dip ticket for January is confirmed in the third week of October, which is early enough to book trains and rooms at ordinary fares. Booking travel first and hoping for the draw is the expensive way round.

If you are not selected

Most entries are not drawn; that is the nature of a lottery for a small number of daily seats. There are three sensible next moves, and none of them involves an agent, because no agent can enter the dip on your behalf without your own account and ID.

  • Try the direct-release sevas the next morning. Kalyanotsavam and Unjal Seva for the same month release on the 21st at 10 AM. They are first-come, so be logged in before the release time.
  • Register again next month. Each month is a fresh draw for a fresh seva month; there is no carry-over, but there is also no penalty for trying every month until the Aadhaar block applies after you attend.
  • Take a darshan slot instead. Special Entry Darshan (Rs 300) and the free slotted darshan are booked separately from sevas and are far easier to get; our darshan guide explains the slots.

Two clarifications. The dip has nothing to do with Vaikunta Ekadasi darshan tokens, which TTD issues through a separate process. And the monthly seva calendar, with festival closures that cancel some Arjitha sevas outright, is worth checking before you pick dates; see our TTD calendar 2026 for the festival dates and the Arjitha seva booking guide for what each seva involves once you are selected.

Frequently asked questions

When does TTD lucky dip registration open every month?

On the 18th at 10:00 AM, closing on the 20th at 10:00 AM, for sevas in the month three months ahead. TTD shifts the window by a day or two in festival months, as it did for the December 2026 sevas (reported 19-21 September 2026), so check the portal or a TTD press note.

Is TTD lucky dip registration free?

As reported by pilgrim guides, there is no fee to enter the draw. You pay the seva amount only if you are selected, by 12 noon on the 22nd, and the reported 2026 amounts are Rs 120 for Suprabhatam, Rs 220 for Thomala and Archana and Rs 1,250 for Astadala Pada Padmaradhana; confirm on the portal.

Which sevas come under the TTD electronic dip?

Suprabhatam Seva, Thomala Seva, Archana Seva and Astadala Pada Padmaradhana. Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara are released directly on the 21st at 10 AM rather than drawn.

How do I know if I am selected in the TTD lucky dip?

TTD sends an SMS and email to selected devotees on the 20th, and the status shows in your portal login. If you hear nothing by the evening of the 20th, log in and check rather than waiting.

What happens if I do not pay by the deadline?

The allotment lapses at 12 noon on the 22nd and the seat returns to TTD. There is no extension and no reminder; set your own alarm for the 21st.

How many people can I add in one dip registration?

Up to two devotees per registration on one mobile number, as reported. A family of four needs two accounts with two different mobile numbers, each registered with its own ID.
