TTD Cottage Donor Scheme: Amounts & Privileges
TTD Cottage Donor Scheme: Amounts & Privileges
Key takeaways
- TTD's own page lists eight cottage donation tiers from Rs 5.00 lakh to Rs 18.00 lakh, each tied to a rest house or complex in Tirumala or Tirupati.
- Donors get 30 days of accommodation in a calendar year, for the donor's or spouse's life or 20 years whichever is later; firms get 20 years only.
- The same page states "NO Darshan privilege" and "NO I.T. Exemption" under the scheme.
- Claims of VIP break darshan, free laddus or a donor ID card are not on TTD's scheme page, so confirm with TTD before relying on them.
- Contact the TTD donor cell using the numbers and email on TTD's page; this site does not take donations.
The TTD cottage donor scheme, as listed on TTD's own page, takes donations of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 18 lakh depending on the rest house. Donors get 30 days of accommodation a year, but TTD states the scheme carries no darshan privilege and no income-tax exemption.
Every figure here comes from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams page we read on 6 October 2026. The page is undated, so confirm current amounts with the TTD donor cell. If you only need an ordinary room, our guide to TTD accommodation covers normal online booking. This site is an independent information site. Official TTD bookings are made on TTD's own websites, and we do not collect donations or book donor rooms.
What the TTD Cottage Donor Scheme Is
The Cottage Donation Scheme lets a donor give a fixed amount to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and receive the right to stay in a TTD rest house for a set number of days each year. The amount depends on which rest house or complex the donation is tied to, and the rooms are in Tirumala and Tirupati.
Who runs it
The scheme is run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Donor bookings are handled through what TTD calls the Cottage Donor Management System, covered in its own section below.
Who can donate
TTD's page says donations are accepted in the names of majors, meaning adults aged 18 and above. It also lists firms, trusts, companies and joint donations as donor types with a shorter benefit period, which we set out in the privileges table. The page does not describe nomination, transfer or succession rules for the donor benefit, so ask the donor cell about any of these before you donate.
Donation Amounts and Rooms by Rest House
The table reproduces the eight tiers on TTD's page as listed on 6 October 2026. TTD lists the Vishnu Nivasam suites as "Suits"; we write "Suites".
| Location | Rest house / complex | Donation | Rooms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tirumala | Mathrusri Vakuladevi Rest House | Rs 10.00 lakh | 270 |
| Tirumala | Nandakam Rest House | Rs 8.50 lakh | 340 |
| Tirumala | Panchajanyam Rest House | Rs 5.00 lakh | 386 |
| Tirupati | Srinivasam Complex, Deluxe AC Room | Rs 10.00 lakh | 36 |
| Tirupati | Srinivasam Complex, AC Room | Rs 7.50 lakh | 125 |
| Tirupati | Vishnu Nivasam, Rooms | Rs 10.00 lakh | 392 |
| Tirupati | Vishnu Nivasam, Suites | Rs 18.00 lakh | 16 |
| Tirupati | Madhavam Rest House | Rs 15.00 lakh | 164 |
Tirumala rest houses
Three Tirumala rest houses are listed. Panchajanyam Rest House is the lowest tier on the page at Rs 5.00 lakh and has the most rooms of the three, at 386. Nandakam Rest House is Rs 8.50 lakh with 340 rooms, and Mathrusri Vakuladevi Rest House is Rs 10.00 lakh with 270 rooms. Adding the page's room counts gives 996 rooms across the three.
Tirupati complexes
Five tiers sit in Tirupati. The highest amount on the page is Rs 18.00 lakh for the Suites at Vishnu Nivasam, which has just 16 rooms, while Vishnu Nivasam Rooms is Rs 10.00 lakh with 392 rooms. Srinivasam Complex lists a Deluxe AC Room at Rs 10.00 lakh (36 rooms) and an AC Room at Rs 7.50 lakh (125 rooms), and Madhavam Rest House is Rs 15.00 lakh with 164 rooms. Adding the page's counts gives 733 Tirupati rooms. These are donation tiers, not nightly tariffs, and the page does not say which room a donor is assigned on a given stay.
Scale check: donation per stay day
To see the scale of each tier, we divided every amount by 600, which is 30 days a year over the 20-year minimum period TTD states. The result is arithmetic only. It is not a price, because a cottage donation is a gift to TTD and not the purchase of rooms, and it is not financial advice. Individuals may receive the benefit for longer than 20 years, which this simple division ignores.
| Tier | Donation | Divided by 600 stay days |
|---|---|---|
| Panchajanyam Rest House | Rs 5.00 lakh | about Rs 833 |
| Srinivasam Complex, AC Room | Rs 7.50 lakh | Rs 1,250 |
| Nandakam Rest House | Rs 8.50 lakh | about Rs 1,417 |
| Mathrusri Vakuladevi, Srinivasam Deluxe AC, Vishnu Nivasam Rooms | Rs 10.00 lakh | about Rs 1,667 |
| Madhavam Rest House | Rs 15.00 lakh | Rs 2,500 |
| Vishnu Nivasam, Suites | Rs 18.00 lakh | Rs 3,000 |
What Donors Get: Official Privileges and Exclusions
TTD's page sets out the benefit in a few lines, and the exact wording matters because third-party pages describe it differently.
| Item | As stated by TTD | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Accommodation days | 30 days in a calendar year (Privileges text) | TTD's own table column says "Financial year" while its Privileges text says "calender year"; third-party guides say financial year |
| Duration for individuals | Life of the donor or spouse, or 20 years, whichever is later | As worded on TTD's page |
| Firms, trusts, companies, joint donations | 20 years only | No lifetime benefit for these donor types |
| Tirupati complex donors | 15 days in Tirupati and 15 days in Tirumala | Splits the 30 days between the two locations |
| Who may donate | Majors (18+) | Donations are accepted in adult names |
| Income-tax exemption | "NO I.T. Exemption" | TTD states this on the page; this is not tax advice |
| Darshan privilege | "NO Darshan privilege" under the scheme | Stated by TTD for the Cottage Donation Scheme |
30 days a year
TTD's Privileges text says 30 days in a calendar year, but the same page's table says "Financial year" in the accommodation column, and a third-party guide also says financial year. TTD's page is therefore inconsistent with itself, so ask the donor cell which year applies and when it starts. The page does not describe how the days may be split across visits.
Lifetime vs 20 years
For individuals, TTD says the benefit lasts for the life of the donor or spouse, or 20 years, whichever is later. Firms, trusts, companies and joint donations get 20 years only. Tirupati complex donors receive 15 days in Tirupati and 15 days in Tirumala rather than 30 days in one place.
No darshan, no tax exemption
The scheme page carries two starred lines: no income-tax exemption and no darshan privilege under the Cottage Donation Scheme. We do not offer tax advice, so ask your adviser about any tax treatment of a donation, and read TTD's wording as it stands.
Claims You Will See Online vs TTD's Own Page
Search results for this scheme include pages that promise extras. We did not find any of them on TTD's scheme page. That does not prove the claims are false in general, but do not rely on them without confirming with TTD.
| Claim seen online | On TTD's scheme page? | Practical note |
|---|---|---|
| VIP break darshan for cottage donors | No; the page says no darshan privilege | Separate protocol and major-donor norms exist and TTD revises them; see our VIP break darshan guide |
| Six free laddus per visit | No | Not listed among the scheme privileges |
| Mahaprasadam for donors | No | Not listed on the scheme page |
| Priority at festival times | No | TTD's 2017 review mentions posting dates when cottages cannot be allotted |
| Donor ID card | No | Ask the donor cell what identity proof is needed |
| 30 days per financial year | Partly; TTD's table says "Financial year" but its Privileges text says calendar year | TTD's page is inconsistent, so confirm with the donor cell |
Hundi offerings and major-donor darshan norms are separate from this cottage scheme page, and our own VIP break darshan guide treats them as a different subject. If you are weighing a cottage donation mainly for darshan access, the scheme page itself says it does not provide it, so check the current rules for the route you actually want before you donate.
CDMS: the Donor Management System
CDMS stands for Cottage Donor Management System, the arrangement TTD uses to manage donor bookings. Its public description is thin, so we separate what TTD has said from what third parties describe.
What TTD said in 2017
TTD's news site reported that on 13 April 2017 the Executive Officer, Dr D. Sambasiva Rao, reviewed the CDMS. The review covered donor awareness, website norms, how firms completing their 20 years could request benefits through re-donation, and posting the festival dates when cottages cannot be allotted. This is a 2017 item and not a description of the current process. It does show that TTD itself treats donor awareness and clear website norms as something to improve, which is a good reason to rely on the current TTD page and the donor cell and not on older summaries.
How booking is described by third parties
A third-party guide on tirumalatirupationline.com describes six steps: log in with donor credentials, select the scheme, choose available (green) dates, choose self or guest booking, enter the visitor identity details, and confirm to receive a receipt. We could not verify these steps against a TTD source, so treat them as unverified. We do not give a portal address or login advice, and you should only use channels that TTD itself publishes.
Contacting the Donor Cell and Comparing With Normal Rooms
TTD contacts
TTD's scheme page lists the phone numbers 0877-2263472 and 0877-226-3471 for office hours, and the email address [email protected]. These are from the official page we read on 6 October 2026, so confirm them there before you call or write. For the full details, read the TTD Cottage Donation page.
Before you call, prepare a short list of questions. Ask the donor cell to confirm the current amount for your chosen rest house, whether the 30 days are counted by calendar year, and how the days may be divided across visits. Ask which festival dates are blocked, since the 2017 review mentioned posting dates when cottages cannot be allotted. Ask what a firm or trust must do when its 20 years end, because the same review mentions requesting benefits through re-donation. Finally, ask what identity proof guests need, and which room category you would be given on each stay.
Normal TTD room booking instead
A donation is a long-term commitment of Rs 5 lakh or more, while ordinary online room booking is a per-stay process. If you only plan one or two trips, the normal route in our TTD accommodation booking guide is the simpler comparison to read first. A donor scheme is worth a look only if you expect to return often over many years. This site does not handle donations, so direct every scheme question to the donor cell above.

Tirupati complex donors get 15 days in Tirupati and 15 in Tirumala.
Does the TTD cottage donor scheme include VIP darshan?
