TTD Srivari Seva volunteer online registration is done on the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams portal: you create a Sevak profile, then pick a month and date once that month's quota opens. Only Hindus aged 18 to 60 who are physically and mentally fit can register, the service is unpaid, and sevaks work at least six hours a day at Tirumala.
The rules below are taken from the official Srivari Seva page on tirumala.org and the TTD voluntary-services page, both checked on 8 October 2026; dates and numbers come from the quota notices and press reports named where they are used. This is an independent information site: it does not register sevaks and cannot allot dates. Registration happens only on the TTD portal.
TTD Srivari Seva volunteer online registration: the short answer
Srivari Seva is the voluntary service scheme that Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) introduced in 2000 at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala. According to TTD's own Srivari Seva page, it began with 200 volunteers and has since crossed the 13 lakh mark. Sevaks help TTD run the pilgrim services around the temple for a fixed number of days, stay in TTD's Srivari Seva Sadan and receive no payment of any kind.
Registration is online only. You log in to the TTD portal, complete a Sevak Profile, choose General Srivari Seva, select the month and a date, and submit. Each month's quota is released on an announced date and time; the two dated 2026 examples we found opened at 3 PM and 4 PM on consecutive days in late June, one to two months before the seva month. On your allotted date you report at the designated centre in Tirumala or Tirupati with photo ID and your confirmation.
Many sevaks also want to attend an arjitha seva or book darshan around their service days. Those are separate bookings with their own quotas and fees; the TTD seva booking page lists the arjitha sevas with their timings and what each one costs, and the TTD calendar 2026 shows the festival dates that affect quotas.
Who can register as a Srivari Sevak
TTD sets the eligibility rules on its Srivari Seva page, and the voluntary-services page adds a few conduct points. The table below reproduces them with the source for each row.
| Rule | Requirement | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Religion | Hindus only | tirumala.org Srivari Seva page |
| Age | 18 to 60 years | tirumala.org Srivari Seva page |
| Health | Physically strong and mentally fit | tirumala.org Srivari Seva page |
| Record | No criminal cases | tirumala.org Srivari Seva page |
| Prohibited items | No articles banned under Section 114 of the AP Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987: alcohol, drugs, tobacco, meat | tirumala.org Srivari Seva page |
| Duty hours | Minimum of six hours per day | tirumala.org Srivari Seva page |
| Payment | Free service; no payments made by TTD in any form; no collecting money from team members | tirumala.org Srivari Seva page |
| Darshan during duty | Must not go for Angapradakshina or arjitha seva tickets evading duty (two-year ban) | tirumala.org Srivari Seva page |
| Companions | Do not bring children or aged people | tirumala.org voluntary-services page |
| Final selection | By the APRO cum OSD or the Superintendent of Srivari Seva Sadan | tirumala.org voluntary-services page |
| ID | Team leaders bring ID proof; Aadhaar was mandatory in the 2017 Brahmotsavam quota notice | tirumala.org; TTD press release 22 June 2017 |
The age band and the Hindu-only rule are the two conditions people most often miss, because third-party date notices rarely repeat them. The portal form collects your details, but TTD states that final selection rests with the APRO cum OSD or the Superintendent of Srivari Seva Sadan, so an online submission is a request, not an automatic allotment.
Dress code and daily duty hours
TTD prescribes the dress exactly. Men wear a white shirt and white pant, or a dhoti, or kurta-pyjama. Women wear an orange colour saree with a maroon border and a maroon blouse, or an orange colour top with maroon colour bottom. The colours are not optional; they identify sevaks to pilgrims and staff on the temple premises.
Duty is a minimum of six hours per day for every day of your allotted service. TTD also states that sevaks must not go for Angapradakshina or arjitha seva tickets evading their duties, on pain of a two-year ban from service, and that alcohol, drugs and tobacco are not allowed. Because the service is free, nobody may collect money from team members, and TTD pays nothing to sevaks in any form.
How to register online, step by step
The steps below follow the registration notice for the August 2026 quota published by tirthayatra.org on 25 June 2026, which points to the TTD Online Services portal at ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in. The portal layout can change, so treat the labels as a guide rather than exact screen text.
Sevak profile
Log in to the TTD portal, or create an account if you do not have one. Open the Srivari Seva section and complete the Sevak Profile Registration. This holds your personal details, which TTD checks against the eligibility rules above. In the 2017 Brahmotsavam quota notice TTD made Aadhaar mandatory for sevaks and capped teams at 15 members; check the current month's notice to see whether those conditions still apply.
Choosing month and date
Select General Srivari Seva, then the month and the date you want to serve. Dates become selectable only after the month's quota has been released, and a press report by ap7am on 15 January 2026 describes bookings opening 60 days in advance with a daily electronic dip. TTD's own Srivari Seva page confirms that temple duties are allotted through electronic dip only and are not mandatory; the 60-day window appears only in the news report, so treat it as reported practice rather than official policy. Submit the request and save the confirmation.
Confirmation and reporting
On the allotted date, report at the designated centre in Tirumala or Tirupati with a photo ID and the confirmation. The July 2026 notice from tirthayatra.org covers a separate quota for Srivari Seva at TTD's local SV temples in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Upamaka, Kanyakumari, Bengaluru and Vontimitta, and that sevaks allotted to those temples report to the concerned temple rather than to Tirumala. If you live closer to one of those cities, that option saves the climb to Tirumala, but the same eligibility, dress and conduct rules apply.
What to carry and what to leave behind
Drawing only on TTD's rules: carry the prescribed clothing for every duty day (white for men; orange with maroon for women), a photo ID, your printed or saved confirmation, and your own lock and keys for the Seva Sadan locker. Team leaders carry ID proof for the group. Leave behind anything prohibited under Section 114 of the Endowments Act, which TTD lists as alcohol, drugs, tobacco and meat, and do not bring children or aged relatives, who are not allowed to accompany sevaks.
When registrations open: 2026 examples
TTD announces each month's General Srivari Seva quota separately. We only list dates that we could trace to a dated notice or release; the current month's release date is on the TTD portal and is not something we can predict.
| Seva month | Registration opened | Time | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| August 2026 (General Srivari Seva) | 25 June 2026 | 3:00 PM | tirthayatra.org notice, 25 June 2026 |
| July 2026 (General Srivari Seva at local SV temples: Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Upamaka, Kanyakumari, Bengaluru, Vontimitta) | 26 June 2026 | 4:00 PM | tirthayatra.org notice, 25 June 2026 |
| Annual Brahmotsavams 2017 (historic), service 22 September to 2 October 2017 | 22 and 23 June 2017 (1,000 registrations each day) | Not stated | TTD press release, 22 June 2017 |
In the two 2026 examples the release came one to two months before the seva month, in the afternoon. The 2017 row shows how TTD handles the Annual Brahmotsavams: a separate quota of 2,000 registrations split over two days, with teams capped at 15 members. In that 2017 notice sevaks were also offered five laddus at a subsidised Rs 10 and darshan. That was the 2017 arrangement, not a current entitlement; read the notice for the quota you book, because TTD sets the terms afresh each time.
What sevaks do and where they stay
The ap7am report of 15 January 2026 lists the main duties: serving Anna Prasadam in the dining halls, cutting vegetables, making garlands, running luggage centres, and supporting the health and security wings. TTD's voluntary-services page puts daily strength at not less than 1,000 volunteers, tripling during festivals; ap7am quotes an average of 2,500 a day and 3,500 at festivals. Sevaks are posted where the day's need is, so do not count on a particular duty.
Accommodation is in the Srivari Seva Sadan at Tirumala: Sadan-2 for men and Sadan-1 for women. TTD states there are no individual rooms and that sevaks must bring their own locks and keys. Children and aged relatives are not allowed to accompany sevaks. The ap7am report says TTD spent about Rs 100 crore on two Seva Sadan complexes for 3,000 volunteers. TTD's pages do not state what food is provided to sevaks, so ask at the Sadan when you report.
If you want an arjitha seva on a day you are not on duty, the arjitha seva booking guide explains the electronic dip those sevas use; it is a separate process from Srivari Seva registration.
Numbers, history and what is changing
Official and news sources give different cumulative counts, and we present them with their dates rather than reconcile them. TTD's Srivari Seva page says the scheme started in 2000 with 200 volunteers and has crossed 13 lakh. TTD's voluntary-services page carries an older figure of nearly 500,000 participants since 2000. The ap7am report of 15 January 2026 says it began with 195 locals and reached 19.31 lakh volunteers by November 2025, with manual letters used until 2016 before the online portal. Each figure is correct for its page and date; none is a live counter.
On 30 June 2025 TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary told PTI that TTD plans a dedicated app to bring global professionals into Srivari Seva across ten departments, including engineering, health and IT, on a pilot basis. As of our check it is a plan, not a live channel, and General Srivari Seva registration remains on the TTD portal.
Srivari Seva is one strand of TTD's volunteer and seva system around the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple. Once your service dates are fixed, book any arjitha seva or darshan you want around them separately on the official TTD portal, and keep your duty hours clear of those bookings, since TTD bans sevaks who go for Angapradakshina or arjitha seva tickets evading their duties.
Frequently asked questions
Is Srivari Seva registration free?
Yes. TTD describes Srivari Seva as a free service: no payments are made by TTD in any form, and nobody may collect money from team members. Registration on the TTD portal carries no fee according to the notices we checked; sevaks pay their own travel.
Can non-Hindus or people over 60 register for Srivari Seva?
No. TTD's Srivari Seva page states that the service is for Hindus only, aged 18 to 60, who are physically strong and mentally fit and have no criminal cases.
What should men and women wear for Srivari Seva?
Men wear a white shirt and white pant, or a dhoti, or kurta-pyjama. Women wear an orange saree with a maroon border and maroon blouse, or an orange top with maroon bottom, as prescribed on tirumala.org.
Where do Srivari Sevaks stay in Tirumala?
In the Srivari Seva Sadan: Sadan-2 for men and Sadan-1 for women. There are no individual rooms, and TTD asks sevaks to bring their own locks and keys.
Do Srivari Sevaks get darshan?
TTD's rules say sevaks must not go for Angapradakshina or arjitha seva tickets evading their duties, and that temple duties are allotted by electronic dip. In the 2017 Brahmotsavam quota notice, sevaks were offered darshan and five laddus at Rs 10 after completing service, but that was a 2017 arrangement; check the current month's notice on the TTD portal for what applies now.
