Key takeaways

  • Four sevas are offered virtually: Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva.
  • 2026 quotas opened at 3:00 PM about three months ahead: June 2026 on 21 March, October 2026 on 21 July (first come, first served).
  • Book on ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in or the TTD Devasthanams app: Online Seva (Virtual Participation), seva, date, details, pay, download.
  • Per TTD's 2021 release, Kalyanotsavam holders book a darshan slot without paying the Rs 300 ticket; other virtual sevas require a separate Rs 300 darshan ticket.
  • Virtual seva is not the arjitha seva e-dip lottery; quotas can be withheld in ritual periods such as Balalayam.

TTD virtual seva booking means reserving a place in TTD's Online Seva (Virtual Participation) for Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam or Sahasra Deepalankara Seva, taking part from home, and getting a connected darshan slot. Quotas open on the TTD portal and app at an announced date and time; the 2026 releases we traced opened at 3 PM, roughly two and a half to three months ahead, first come, first served.

This guide draws on TTD's own press releases of 2021, 2022 and 2023 and on dated 2026 quota notices published by tirthayatra.org, all checked on 8 October 2026. This is an independent information site: it does not take bookings, and virtual seva tickets are sold only on the official TTD portal and app. Where TTD has not published a rule, we say so rather than guess.

TTD virtual seva booking: the short answer

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) runs most arjitha sevas inside the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple for devotees who are physically present. Online Seva (Virtual Participation) is the alternative it created for four of those sevas: you pay for a virtual seva ticket, the seva is performed in the temple while you take part remotely, and you receive a linked darshan booking that TTD calls Connected Darshan. A TTD release of 9 January 2023 names the four sevas and describes the quota as Online Seva (Virtual participation) and connected Darshan.

Booking is time-critical. The October 2026 quota opened on Tuesday 21 July 2026 at 3:00 PM on the portal and the TTD Devasthanams app, and the notice warned that slots can sell out within minutes. Prices for virtual seva tickets are not stated in the sources we checked, so we do not list them; the in-person seva fees on our TTD seva booking page are for the regular arjitha sevas and should not be read as virtual seva prices.

The four sevas you can join virtually

Every official quota release we found, from 29 June 2021 through 9 January 2023, lists the same four sevas. The table shows each seva with what the 2021 release says about its darshan linkage; the darshan rule is now more than five years old and should be confirmed on the portal when you book.

Four things are not stated in any release or notice we checked, and we do not guess at them: the current price of each virtual seva ticket, how many people one ticket covers, whether prasadam is sent to the devotee, and how long a connected darshan stays valid. The portal shows the ticket terms only while a quota is open, so read the booking screen before paying and keep a copy of the terms with your ticket.

When virtual seva quotas are released: 2026 examples

TTD does not publish a standing release calendar. Each month's virtual seva quota is announced separately, and the dates below are the ones we could trace to a dated release or notice. Treat the gap between release and seva month as a pattern, not a rule.

Dated virtual seva quota releases (official TTD releases and tirthayatra.org notices, checked 8 October 2026)
Seva monthQuota releasedTimeSource
September 202221 July 202211:00 AMTTD release, 19 July 2022

June 202621 March 20263:00 PMtirthayatra.org notice, 20 March 2026
October 202621 July 20263:00 PMtirthayatra.org notice, 22 July 2026

Two shifts are visible. The release time has moved from the morning (11 AM in 2022, 9 AM in 2023) to 3:00 PM in both 2026 releases. The lead time has also grown: the January 2023 quota opened in the same month, while the June 2026 and October 2026 quotas opened about three months ahead. Neither is a published rule, so watch TTD's announcement for each month rather than assuming 3 PM.

Quotas can also be withheld. The 9 January 2023 release stated that virtual sevas and connected darshan would not be available from 22 to 28 February 2023 because of Balalayam. If your preferred date falls in a ritual blackout, it simply will not appear on the portal, so check the TTD calendar 2026 for festival periods before the release day.

How to book on the TTD portal and app

The steps below follow the tirthayatra.org notices for the June 2026 and October 2026 quotas. Screen labels can change, so use them as a guide.

Website steps

Open ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in and log in, or register first if you have no account. Choose Online Seva (Virtual Participation), or the Connected Darshan option where shown. Select the seva and the date you want. Enter the devotee details asked for. Pay online. Download the ticket and keep it with the booking reference.

App steps

Open the TTD Devasthanams app and log in. Go to Online Seva, pick the seva and date, pay, and save the ticket to your phone. The notice for the October 2026 quota lists the app and the website as equal channels for the same quota, so use whichever loads faster at 3:00 PM.

Because the quota is first come, first served, log in a few minutes before the release time with your account details ready and a payment method that does not need a slow authentication step. If a date is already sold out, the portal will not show it; there is no waitlist in the notices we checked.

Before release day

Register your account on ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in or the TTD Devasthanams app well before the announced date, and log in once to confirm the password works. Decide the seva and two or three acceptable dates in advance, avoiding any festival or ritual period that could be blacked out. Keep the devotee details the form will ask for in one place, and test your payment method on a small transaction elsewhere so a bank verification step does not cost you the slot. On the day, be logged in a few minutes before the release time.

Connected darshan: what the official releases say

Connected Darshan is the darshan booking tied to a virtual seva ticket. The clearest statement of how it works is TTD's release of 29 June 2021, which we quote because no later TTD page restates the rule. For Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva, "the devotees have to book Rs. 300 tickets separately to avail darshan". For Kalyanotsavam, "devotees need not have to pay for Rs. 300 tickets but have to book their darshan slot alone". The Rs 300 ticket referred to is the price tier of TTD's Special Entry Darshan.

In practice a Kalyanotsavam virtual ticket carries a darshan slot you reserve without a further darshan fee, while the other three sevas give you access to a darshan booking that you still pay for at the Rs 300 tier. These are 2021 rules; confirm the current terms on the portal when you book. The releases we checked do not state how long a connected darshan remains valid after booking, and we found no TTD page that does, so do not rely on validity figures quoted on unofficial sites.

The connected darshan is the main reason many devotees book a virtual seva at all: it is a darshan slot obtained on a first-come basis rather than through a lottery, with a date you choose at booking. Plan your Tirumala travel around that date once the ticket is issued, and check the darshan terms on the ticket for the reporting time and ID requirements.

Virtual seva vs arjitha seva e-dip

Devotees often confuse the two routes to an arjitha seva. In-person arjitha sevas at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple are allotted through an Electronic dip, a lottery that runs on fixed dates; our arjitha seva booking guide walks through it, and the TTD lucky dip guide explains how the dip works. Virtual seva is not a lottery. The table sets the two side by side.

If you want to be in the temple for the seva, enter the dip. If you want a place confirmed at booking without travelling on the seva day, and you can be online at the release time, the virtual seva is the route; the connected darshan then gives you a Tirumala visit on a date you choose, within whatever validity the portal states.

Whichever route you take, book only on the official TTD portal or app, and compare the in-person seva options on our seva booking page before the next quota opens.

Frequently asked questions

Which TTD sevas can be booked as virtual seva?

Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva. Every TTD virtual seva quota release we checked, from June 2021 to January 2023, and the 2026 notices list the same four.

What time is the virtual seva quota released?

The two 2026 releases we traced opened at 3:00 PM: the June 2026 quota on 21 March 2026 and the October 2026 quota on 21 July 2026. Earlier releases opened in the morning (11 AM in July 2022, 9 AM in January 2023), so check each month's TTD announcement.

Does virtual seva include darshan?

A connected darshan booking is tied to the virtual seva. TTD's 29 June 2021 release says Kalyanotsavam holders book their darshan slot without paying the Rs 300 ticket, while holders of the other three virtual sevas book Rs 300 darshan tickets separately. Confirm the current terms on the portal.

Is virtual seva booking a lottery like the arjitha seva dip?

No. Virtual seva slots are first come, first served from the moment the quota opens, and the October 2026 notice warned they can sell out within minutes. In-person arjitha sevas are allotted through the electronic dip.

Can I book virtual seva on the TTD app?

Yes. The October 2026 notice lists the TTD Devasthanams app alongside the website: open Online Seva in the app, choose the seva and date, pay and save the ticket.
